Working during School Vacation, before and after New Year

First, we want to congratulate all our students who passed the rank testing last week.

Second, we are still working in our normal schedule this week (Dec 19 – Dec 25). During School Vacation next 2 weeks we will work as usual, with 2 exceptions: we will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2022 and Monday, January 2, 2023.

In other words, the last training session in 2022 will be Friday, December 30, 2022, and training will resume in New 2023 Year on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Halloween and no training on Monday, October 31st, 2022

Happy Halloween to all our students on Monday, October 31st, 2022! Earl Bales CC, following City of Toronto instructions, forbid kids under 12 years old inside the Centre after 4 pm.

Due to that, our Kinder and Kids groups will not be able to practice. Because of that we decided to cancel all our training sessions on Monday, October 31st, 2022 including Youth and Adults one (13+). I hope instead of that, you will have a very fun Trick or Treat with your family and friends. Our training will resume on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

Our First Athlete Participation in Tournament after start of the Pandemic – Great Job Max Hlushko

That was our first athlete participation in a tournament after the start of the Pandemic. He performed in Kumite 8-9 years old White to Orange belts. He had 4 matches, put a great fight and win 2 matches and lost 2. Great Job for first participation. 3rd place was a well deserved result. Way to go, Max!

2022 Anthony Paul Ragoobir Budo Excellence Award

Today, York Centre Karate decided to award our the highest recognition award, Anthony Paul Ragoobir Budo Excellence Award. This year, Sensei Aleksandar Mihajlovic was recognized with this award for his outstanding effort in preserving true BUDO spirit. Congratulations Sensei Aleksandar Mihajlovic! Note: Shihan Anthony Paul Ragoobir was a disabled Karate practitioner who despite his disability was practising full power with full commitment, showing an exceptional dedication to Karate, and showing true spirit of BUDO. He was a big friend of York Centre Karate who supported us both in person and also through showing example to our students.
